With advances in Space Technology many satellites have been launched by developed countries of the world. Though the intentions of such projects had been good for the benefits of mankind, the non-functional satellites are now posing as a threat in the form of “Space Debris”.

As a result the new space voyages that are being planned need to be carried out with utmost precautions as there are thousands of particles in the space moving around the Earth with great velocities. They can collide with the newly launched space vehicles and cause irreparable damages, which could lead to heavy losses.

One of the solutions that exist is to ensure the detailed study of the existing space debris to prepare a 3D ‘Navigation Map’ that will enable the safe transit of a space ship through this space debris.

The other possibility will be to send a space orbiter that will collect the space debris and disintegrate the particles in an on-board chamber, like a “scavenger”.
