Champaran movement was first satyagrah movement led by Gandhi ji after returning from South Africa in 1916.

He led a novel method of mass agitation, he led satyagrah movement for indigo plantation workers who were forcefully recruited to other countries and were bond workers without wages.

For them Gandhi ji led the movement.
