Answer:

The answer is = 50•4

Step-by-step explanation:

the area of the metal sheet =

4•2 cm ×2= 8•4 cm

The height of the cylinder= 6 cm

The volume of the cylinder= 8•4×6

= 50•4

Given :  a closed cylinder of radius 4.2cm and height 6cm

To find : the area of metal sheet needed to make a closed cylinder

volume of the cylinder

Solution:

r = 4.2 cm

h = 6 cm

area of metal sheet needed to make a closed cylinder = Total Surface area of cylinder

Total Surface area of cylinder = 2πr² + 2πrh

= 2πr(r + h)

= 2 ( 22/7) * 4.2 ( 4.2 +  6)

= 26.4 ( 10.2)

= 269.28 cm²

area of metal sheet needed  = 269.28 cm²

Volume of cylinder =  πr²h

= (22/7) (4.2)²  * 6

= 332.64 cm³
