Solution:

Given equation of a line :

2x+3y=1

i) Put x = 0 ,to find the y-intercept

2×0+3y=1

=> 3y = 1

=> y = 1/3

(x,y) = (0,1/3)

ii) Take y=0 , to find x-intercept

2x+3×0 = 1

=> 2x = 1

=> x = 1/2

(x,y) = (1/2,0)

Therefore,

Given line intersects X-axis at (1/2,0 ) and y-axis at (0,1/3)

Second method :

Convert given equation into

x/a + y/b = 1

where ,

x-intercept = a

y-intercept = b

2x+3y = 1

=> x/(1/2)+y/(1/3) = 1

a = 1/2 , b = 1/3
