The living beings which produce their own light are jellyfish, worm, crustacean, shark.

The property by which living beings emit light is known as bioluminescence.

But there have been some other cases where animals take in other bacteria or other bioluminescent creatures to gain the ability to emit light.

The process of a emission of light by living organism are called Bioluminescence and it is a chemiluminescence form. Bioluminescence process are widely present in "marine vertebrates" and "invertebrates" as well as some microorganisms and these process is also present in some kind of fungi and some bacteria.  

The best example of Bioluminescence process is present in invertebrate like firefly.
