HERE IS UR ANSWER

_______________***____________

"n " number of shell

l=0 for s subshell
l=1 for p subshell
l=2 for d subshell
l=3 for f subshell

so

FOR 3d:-
n=3
l=2

FOR 4s
n=4
l=0

FOR 5f:-
n=5
l=3

Given: 3d, 4s, and 5f subshells

To Find: principle quantum number, n

              Azimuthal quantum number, l.

Solution:

To calculate n and l, the concept used:

  • There are four quantum numbers- n, l, m, and s
  • n, is the principal quantum number. Its value denotes the shell.
  • l, is the azimuthal quantum number. Its value is 0 to n-1.

      l is 0,1,2,3 for s, p, d, and f -subshells.

  • s, is the spin quantum number
  • m, is the magnetic quantum number

For 3d -

n = 3

l =  2

For 4s-

n = 4

l =  0

For 5f -

n = 5

l = 3

Hence, for 3d, n and l are 3 and 2 respectively.

for 4s, n and l are 4 and 0 respectively.

for 5f, n and l are 5 and 3 respectively.
