Find out the reasons for the low proportion of net sown area on these states
Answers
Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Manipur have larger area under forest and hilly undulating terrain which is unsuitable for cultivation. That’s why Net Sown Area in these states is lower in proportion than other states. Andaman and Nicobar does not have hilly mountainous surface but have higher area under forest and tribal communities which perform hunting and gathering rather than cultivation.
ANSWER :-
Net sown area in Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Manipur is low "mainly due to the hilly and rocky terrain". They are also largely covered by dense forests, which will need to be cut to develop agriculture. Andaman and Nicobar Islands are covered by dense tropical forests and so net sown area is low. And arunachal Pradesh is situated in hilly area and it is difficult to produce crops in hilly area. In Mizoram it is mostly covered by hilly terrain and dense jungles so they cannot put to the land area under cultivation very easily and thus causing very less cultivation
