find p and q if x^4+px^3+2x^2-3x+q is divisible by x^2-1​

hello mate,

Here, (x^2-1)=(x-1)(x+1)

f (1):1+p+2-3+q=0

or, p+q=0.... (i)

& f (-1): 1-p+2+3+q=0

or, p-q=6..... (ii)

adding (i)&(ii), we get

2p=6

or, p=3

putting p=3 in (i)we get

3+q=0

or, q=-3

Hence, p=3 & q=-3 answer.
