Answer:

Molar mass of the MgSO₄ = 120 g/mole.

Mass of Mg = 24 g.

Mass of S = 32 g.

Mass of O = 16.

∴ Mass of O₄ = 16 × 4 = 64 g.

∴ % comp. of Mg = Mass of Mg/Mass of MgSO₄ × 100%

= 24/120 × 100 %

∴ % comp. of Mg = 20 %

% comp. of S = Mass of S/Mass of MgSO₄ 32/120 × 100 %

= 32/120 × 100%

= 0.266 × 100%

∴ % comp. of S = 26.66 %

% comp. of O₄ = Mass of O₄/Mass of MgSO₄ × 100 %

= 64/120 × 100 %

= 0.533 × 100 %

∴ % comp. of O₄ = 53.33 %
