Answer:

CP = ₹ 800

SP = ₹ 500

CP > SP

Loss = CP - SP

= 800 - 500

= 300

Loss% = 300/800 × 100

= 37.5 %

Given that,

C.P = Rs. 800

S.P = Rs.500

Here C.P is greater than S.P so it is Loss

Now,

Loss = C.P - S.P

⇒Loss = 800 - 500

⇒Loss = 300

Therefore,

Loss% = Loss / C.P × 100

Loss% = 300 / 800 × 100

Loss% = 300 / 8

Loss% = 37.5%

Hence the loss percentage is 37.5.
