Answer:

In the figure, the side of the smaller triangle is 'x' and the side of the larger triangle is 'y'.

By Pythagoras theorem,

x²+x² = y²

=> 2(x²) = y²

=> 2 x area of small triangle = area of big triangle

So, the area of the bigger triangle is 2 times greater than the area of the smaller triangle.

The ratio of area of greater triangle to area of the smaller triangle is 2:1
