hey buddy ,

(2 - root 5 )/ (2 + root 5 )

on rationalising the denominator ,

( 2 - root 5 ) ( 2 - root 5 ) / (2)^2 - (root 5)^2

(2 - root 5 )^2 /( 4 - 5)

-(4 + 5 - 4 root 5 )

-(9 - 4 root 5 )

-9 + 4 root 5

4 root 5 - 9

so , a = 4 and b = 9
