According to the figure:[ In the attachment ]

Case-1:

Resistors b and c are connected in parallel.

Case-2:

Resistor a is connected series with case-1. And it is the equivalent resistance of the circuit.

 \orange{ \boxed{\boxed{\begin{array}{cc}\rm \: case - 1 : \\ \\ \frac{1}{R_{bc}} = \frac{1}{b} + \frac{1}{c} = \frac{1}{8} + \frac{1}{8} = \frac{2}{8} \\ \\ \therefore \: R_{bc} = \frac{8}{2} = 4 \: ohm \\ \\ \\ \\ \rm \: case - 2 \: : \\ \\ R_{eq} = a + R_{bc} = 8 + 4 = 12 \: ohm \\ \\ \\ \small{ \blue{ \therefore \rm \: equivalent \: resistance \: \: R_{eq} = 12 \: ohm}}\end{array}}}}</p><p>
