by quadratic formula,

x =   \frac{- b +  -  \sqrt{ {b}^{2} }  - 4ac}{2a}

x =  \frac{2 +  -  \sqrt{4  + 1184} }{8}

x =   \frac{2 +  -  \sqrt{1188} }{8}

x =  \frac{2 +  - 34.46}{8}

x =  \frac{2 +  34.46}{8}  =  \frac{34.48}{8}  = 4.31

x =  \frac{2 - 34.46}{8}  =   \frac{- 34.44}{8}  =  - 4.305
