Heya !!!

P(X) = X² - 2X - 3

=> X² - 3X + X - 3

=> X ( X - 3) + 1 ( X - 3)

=> ( X - 3) ( X + 1) = 0

=> ( X -3) = 0 OR ( X + 1) = 0

=> X = 3 OR X = -1

Hence,

3 and -1 are the roots of the quadratic polynomial X² - 2X - 3.

here is your answer

x^2-2x-3
x²-3x+x-3
x(x-3)+1(x-3)
(x-3)(X+1)
x=3 , x=-1

Hope it helps you ^_^
