There are many ways. Suppose you want to find n numbers (n is a natural numbers) between 2 numbers a & b (a & b are both rational numbers).

Let's assume a<b.

The difference between a & b is d = b-a.

Then n numbers between a & b are:

a+ d/(n+1), a+2d/(n+1), a+3d/(n+1), …

For example, if we want to find 3 rational numbers between 1 & 2, then a=1, b=2 & n=3.

d=b-a=1.

The numbers are 1+1/4, 1+2/4,1+3/4 that is

5/4, 3/2 & 7/4.
