you posted quadratic expression
x²-5x+6=0
x² - 2*x*5/2 +(5/2)² -(5/2)² +6=0to make square we are adding and sutracting (5/2)²
(x-5/2)²+6 -25/4=0
(x-5/2)²= 25/4-6

(x-5/2)²= (25-24)/4
(x-5/2)²= 1/4
x-5/2 = +or - √1/4
x-5/2 = + or - 1/2
x= 5/2 + or - 1/2
therfore
x=5/2+1/2 or x= 5/2-1/2
x=6/2 or x= 4/2
x=3 or x=2
