 x_{1} = 2(1) + 3 = 5

put \: the \: value \: of \: n = 2 \: we \: have

 x_{2} = 2(2) + 3 = 7

we \: can \: find \: the \: difference \: by \: subtrating \:  a_{1} from \:   a_{2}

here \:  a_{1} \:  = 5 \: and \:  a_{2} = 7

therefore \:  a_{2} -  a_{1} = 7 - 5 = 2

now \: to \: find \: the \: 10th \: term \: we \: have \:

 a_{1} = 5

 a_{2} = 7

d = 2

  a_{n} = a + (n - 1)d

 =  >  a_{10} = 5 + (10 - 1)2

 a_{10} = 5 + 18

  a_{10} = 23
