your question is wrong the given sequence is not an Ap.

Shana24: it is in AP..I think u forgot to give dots after 1 because the common difference is 4.

The AP is 1,5,9,13,17,21.
therefore,
tn=a+(n-1)d
t12=1+(12-1)4
t12=1+44
t12=45
