Greetings of the day !

This answer is pretty simple, you just need to put that term in the 'n' in the formula to fin the value of that term. I'll show you how, hope you will understand it well :)

SOLUTION :

let the first term be a .

let the common difference be d .

Given,

nth term of A.P. = 3n - 5

So , first term a₁ = (3 × 1) - 5 = 3 - 5 = -2  [ value of n = 1 , since we are finding first term]

Similarly , second term a₂ = (3 × 2) - 5 = 6 -5 = 1

Third term a₃ = (3 ×3) - 5 = 9 - 5 = 4

Thus , the A.P is :    -2  , 1 , 4 ... [ANSWER]

Hope you find this answer satisfactory and self-explanatory. And if you do, please don't be shy to express your gratitude ;)

PEACE !!
