The angle of elevation of the sun
(sun’s altitude) :
• Given that the length of the shadow of a vertical pole is equal to its height.
• Let suppose length of shadow of a vertical pole = x m and its height is equal to h m
• Then we are given x = h
• Ratio of h/x = 1
• And we know that tan theta = 1, when theta = 45°
• Therefore angle of elevation will be 45°
