let the larger angle be x.

thus the smaller angle = x - 28

As both these angles are adjacent,

=> x + (x - 28) = 140

=> 2x - 28 = 140

=> 2x = 140 + 28

=> 2x = 168

=> x = 168/2

=> x = 84

therefore larger angle = 84

and smaller angle = 84 - 28

= 56
