Answer:

Given Conditions ⇒

Radius of the circular orbit = 42,000 km.

Time taken to complete one round = 24 hours.

Angle subtended at the centre = 360° [ ∵ Earth is approx circular].

∵ 360° = 2π rad.

∴ Angle subtended at the centre = 2π

Now, Using the Formula,

Angular Velocity (ω) = Angle subtended at the centre in radians/Time taken to complete 1 round.

∴ ω = 2π/24

⇒ ω =(44/7) ÷ 24

⇒ ω = 0.2619048 rad/hr.

∴ Angular velocity of the satellite is 0.2619048 rad/hr.

hope this helps you.

Answer:

Distance covered by the satellite in 24 hours

s=2πr = 2×3.14×42250=265464.58 km

Therefore speed of satellite,

v = time taken

distance travelled = 24×60×60=265464.58 =3.07 km s−1
