x - 1/x = 3......................(1)

Squaring both sides :

( x - 1/x )² = 3²

==> x² + 1/x² - 2 x.1/x = 9

==> x² + 1/x² - 2 = 9

==> x² + 1/x² = 11

==> x² + 1/x² + 2 = 11 + 2

==> ( x + 1/x )² = 13

==> ( x + 1/x ) = √13 ................(2)

Cubing both sides :

==> x³ + 1/x³ + 3(x + 1/x ) = 13√13

==> x³ + 1/x³ +3√13 = 13√13 [ see (2) ]

==> x³ + 1/x³ = 13√13 - 3√13

==> x³ + 1/x³ = √13( 13 - 3 )

==> x³ + 1/x³ = 10√13

The value is 10√13
