Using midpoint theorem;
x1+x2/2; y1+y2/2
-5+-1/2 ; 4+0/2
-6/2 ; 4/2
-3 ; 2
But it is given that x =a/3
Therefore a/3=3
a=3*3
=9
Therefore a=9
