Given :
Height of table + cat - turtle = 170 cm
and , height of table + turtle - cat = 130 cm
To find :
Height of the table .
Solution :
Let the height of the table , the height of the cat and the height of the turtle be x , y and z respectively .
then , according to the question ,
x + y - z = 170 cm .........(i)
and , x - y + z = 130 cm .........(ii)
on adding the equation (i) and (ii) , we get ,
2x= 300 cm
→ x = 150 cm
Thus , the height of the table is 150 cm .
