Given :

Height of table + cat - turtle = 170 cm

and , height of table + turtle - cat = 130 cm

To find :

Height of the table .

Solution :

Let the height of the table , the height of the cat and the height of the turtle be x , y and z respectively .

then , according to the question ,

x + y - z = 170 cm                    .........(i)

and , x - y + z = 130 cm           .........(ii)

on adding the equation (i) and (ii) , we get ,

    2x= 300 cm

→ x = 150 cm

Thus , the height of the table is 150 cm .
