given,
perimeter=36cm
base=16cm
A/Q,
perimeter=36cm
a+b+c=36cm. (Here,a,b,c are the sides)
a+16+a=36. (a=c)
2a=36-16
2a=20
a=10cm
c=10cm
Now,
darw AD as median of triangle ABC
by pyhagorous theorem,
AD²=AB²-BD²
AD²=10²-8²
AD²=100-64
AD²=36
AD=6cm
Now,
Area of triangle ABC=1/2×b×h
". ". ". ". =1/2×16×6
". ". ". ". =48cm
Hence, area of the isosceles triangle is 48cm.
