Given : A trapezium with parallel sides 10cm and 12cm and altitude 8cm.

To find : The area of the trapezium.

Solution :

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process. (our goal is to calculate the area of the trapezium)

We know that,

Area of trapezium = ½ × (Sum of parallel sides) × Altitude

By, putting the available data, in the above mentioned mathematical formula, we get :

Area of trapezium = ½ × (10+12) × 8

Or, Area of trapezium = ½ × 22 × 8

Or, Area of trapezium = 88 cm²

(This will be considered as the final result.)

Hence, the area of trapezium is 88 cm².
