Hey, hi.

First let's find out the area of the square......
Area of square = a×a = 4×4 = 16sq.cm.

Then the area of the upper triangle.......
Area of the triangle = (b×h)/2.
The height of the triangle will be 6cm - 4cm = 2cm.
and the base is the side of the lower square = 4cm.
Thus the area of the triangle = (4×2)/2 = 4sq.cm.
Now, the total area of the triangle and the square together is = 16sq.cm+4sq.cm
=20sq.cm.
