find the area in square meter of a piece of cloth 1m 25cm wide and 2m long

Here is your answer.....

length = 1m 25cm = 1.25m
breadth = 2m

Area = l×b
= 1.25m × 2m
= 2.50 sq m

area = length * width
For this problem,
area = ( 1m 25 cm )*(2m)
Since we want our final answer in m^2,

we need to represent 1m 25cm in terms of meters only.
25cm = 0.25m so 1m 25m = (1 + 0.25)m = 1.25m
and
area = 
 (1.25)*(2)*m^2
area =   (2.5)*m^2
