Answer:

from given fig diameter of circle, d=14cm,

so, radius, r=7cm

area of circle=(pi)r^2=(22/7)*7*7=22*7=154m2

now area of square= a^2=14^2=14*14=196m2

from this we can calculate shaded area,

therefore,

shaded area= area of square-area of circle

shaded area=196-154=42m2;

so, shaded area=42m2

Given:-

Side of Square = 14 cm,

Diameter of Circle = Side of Square = 14 cm       and,

Radius of Circle = 14/7 cm = 7 cm

Solution:-

Area of Square ⇒ Side²

                         ⇒ ( 14 cm )²

                         ⇒ 196 cm²

Area of Circle ⇒ πr²

                       ⇒ \dfrac{22}{7} × 7²

                       ⇒ 154 cm²

Area of Shaded region ⇒ ( Area of Square - Area of Circle )

                                      ⇒ ( 196 cm² - 154 cm² )

                                      ⇒ 42 cm²

Area of Shaded region = 42 cm².

Some Important Terms:-

  • Area of Square = Side²

  • Area of Circle = πr²

  • Circumference of Circle = 2πr

  • Perimeter of Square = 4 × side
