perimeter of floor = 2( l+ b) = 2( 7 +5) = 2× 12 = 24 m

Now we have to find lateral surface area

As area = circumference × height

So 2( l+ b) H

So 24× 3 = 72 m^2

As Cost of distempering is 3.15 per m^2

So 1 m^2 cost 3.15

72 m^2 cost 3.15× 72 =226.8 Rs

Answer:

The cost of distempering the walls of room is Rs 226.8.

Step-by-step explanation:

In the question, it is given that the length of room is 7 m, breadth of room is 5 m and height of the room is 3 m .

We know( formula ),

Area of four walls = 2( length + breadth ) x height

Hence,

Area of four walls = 2( 7m + 5m ) x 3m

                        = 2( 12 m ) x 3m

                        = 24 m x 3 m

                        = 72 m^2

Now,

Cost of distempering = rate of distempering x area for distempering

Cost of distempering = Rs 3.15 / m^2 x 72 m^2

Cost of distempering = Rs 3.15 x 72

Cost of ditemepering = Rs 226.8

Therefore the cost of distempering the walls of room is Rs 226.8.
