Find the area of a part 2 metre wide laid inside along the boundary of a rectangular Park of dimensions 60 M nd 40m ... find the cost of gravelling it @ rupees 30 per square metre ?

Given :-----

  • Length of rectangle = 60m
  • Breadth of rectangle = 40m
  • width of path inside = 2m

Formula used :-----

  • Area of rectangle = length × breadth
  • Area of path = Area of outer rectangle - Area of inner rectangle
  • Length of inner rectangle = Actual length - 2(width of path)
  • Breadth of inner rectangle = Actual Breadth - 2(width of path)

solution :-----

Length of inner rectangle = 60 - 2(2) = 56m

Breadth of inner rectangle = 40-2(2) = 36m

so,

Area of path = (60×40) - (56×36) = 2400 - 2016 = 384m²

Now, cost of gravelling is = Rs. 11 / m²

so,

Total cost = 384×11 = Rs.4224 (Ans)

(Hope it helps you)

\huge\tt\green{Given :-}

Length = 60m

Breadth = 40m

width = 2 m

So, by using formula of area of rectangle

Area of rectangle = length × breadth

Area of path = Area of outer rectangle - Area of inner rectangle

Length of inner rectangle = Actual length - 2(width of path)

Breadth of inner rectangle = Actual Breadth - 2(width of path)

\huge\tt\green{sOluTion  :-}

Length of inner rectangle = 60 - 2(2) = 56m

Breadth of inner rectangle = 40-2(2) = 36m

hence , Area of path = (60×40) - (56×36) = 2400 - 2016 = 384m²

Now, cost of gravelling is = Rs. 11 / m²

hence , Total cost = 384×11 = Rs.4224 (Ans)
