find the area of a rectangular plot one side of which is 48 metre and its diagonal is 50 m​

We know that all angles in triangle are of 90°. So let ABCD is a rectangle with sides 48m and length of diagnol AC is 50m( it is given). Then from pythagorous theorem, AC^2 = AD^2 + CD^2

Then CD^2 = AC^2 - AD^2

CD^2 = (50)^2 - (48)^2

CD^2 = 2500 - 2304 = 196

CD = 14m.

Area of rectangle = length x breadth = AD x CD = 48 x 14 = 672m^2.
