To find : area of a Trapezium  .

Given : parallel sides are 11 cm and 18 cm  and  perpendicular distance between them is  10 cm .

Solution :

  • As per given data we know that parallel sides are 11 cm and 18 cm  and  perpendicular distance between them is  10 cm .
  • Area of trapezium = \frac{1}{2} \times ( sum\ of \ parallel\ sides  )\times ( distance \ between \ them  )
  • Substituting values in the above formula .
  • Area of trapezium =\frac{1}{2} \times( 11 + 18 ) \times 10

                                      \\= \frac{1}{2} \times 29 \times 10 \\= 29\times 5 \\= 145\ cm ^{2}

Hence , area of trapezium is 145\ cm^{2} .
