The formula for finding out the area of triangle is:
\frac{base * height}{2} or  \frac{bh}{2}
Here, base is 5 cm and altitude or height is 4 cm.
So, area of the triangle
= \frac{4 cm*5 cm}{2}
= \frac{20 cm}{2}
= 10 cm^{2}

Hope this may help you.
