GIVEN

Sides of a Traingle are

a =34cm

b =20cm and

c =42cm.

Semi Perineter(s) = (34+20+42)/2 = 48cm

TO FIND :- Area and Altitude correspondent to shortest side.

SOLUTION

By Heron's Formula,

Area^2 = s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)

=> A^2 = 48(48 - 34)(48 - 20) (48 - 42)

=> A^2 = 48 × 14 × 28 × 6

=> A^2 = 112896

=> A = 336cm^2 (ANS)

Now, shortest side is 20cm,

area = 1/2 × Base × Altitude

=> 336 = 1/2 × 20 × Altitude

=> Altitude = 336/10 = 33.6cm

Hence area is 336cm^2 and Altitude is 33.6cm (ANS)
