the two sides of isosceles Triangles are equal so the base of triangle is 6 cm then the another base will be also 6 cm
the perimeter of a triangle is sum of all its sides which is equal to 16 cm
then let the vertical side of triangle be x
then 6+6+x=16
12+x=16
x=16-12
x=4...
then a=bh/2
area =12

Given:

Base = 6cm

Perimeter = 16cm

To Find:

Area of the isosceles triangle

Solution:

Let the first side be = a = 6 ( Given)

As two sides of isosceles triangle are equal, thus if one side is 6cm, then other will also be 6cm.

Thus, b = 6 cm

Therefore,

Calculating the perimeter

Perimeter of triangle = a+b+c

16 = 6 + 6 + x

16 = 12 + x

x = 16 - 12

x = 4

Area of triangle = 1/2 × b × h

= 1/2 × 6 ×4

= 12

Answer: The area of triangle is 12 cm²
