Area of the room = Lateral surface area
= 2(l+b)h
= [2(12+8)5] m²
= [10×20]m²
= 200m²

Hello,
we have that:
a=12m, b=8m, and h=5 m
the area of 4 walls of the room is the lateral area of room.
calculate the lateral area of room:
Al=2×(ah+bh)=2×(12×5+8×5)=2×(60+40)=2×100=200 m²
