Hey there!

Answer:

i) 494 cm²

ii) 300 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

(i) This polygon consist of 2 triangles and a square.

Area of both the triangles will be same as they have same base and height.

Now,

Base = 35 cm

Height = 10

Area of  one Δ = 1/2 * base * height

                        = 1/2 * 35 * 10

                        = 35 * 5

                        = 175 cm^2

Area of both the Δs = 2 * 175

                                 = 350 cm^2

Now, area of square = side²

                                  = (12)² = 144 cm^2

Area of required polygon = 144 + 350 = 494 cm^2

ii) It consist of two Δs.

Area of smaller Δ = 1/2 * base * height

                             = 1/2 * 20 * 12

                             = 20 * 6 = 120 cm^2

Height of bigger circle = 30 - 12 = 18 cm

Area of bigger circle = 1/2 * base * height

                                   = 1/2 * 20 * 18

                                   = 20 * 9 = 180 cm^2

Area of required polygon = 180 + 120 = 300 cm^2

Hope It Helps You!
