Correct Question -

Find the area of rectangle whose dimension are:

1. length = 24 . 5m breath = 18 m

2. length = 12.5m breath = 8 dm

Given -

Length of 1st rectangle = 24.5m

Breadth of 1st rectangle = 18m

Length of 2nd rectangle = 12.5m

Breadth of 2nd rectangle = 8dm.

To find -

  • Their area

Solution -

Here, we have to find the area of the rectangle, and length and breadth of the rectangle are given, so we will use the formula of area of rectangle.

So -

Area of rectangle = L × B

Where -

L = Length

B = Breadth

On substituting the values -

Area = L × B

\longmapsto Area = 24.5m × 18m

\longmapsto Area = 441m

Now -

In the 2nd rectangle's dimensions, the breadth is given in dm(deci- meter), so we will convert it from deci-meter to meter.

Area of 2nd rectangle = L × B

where -

L = Length

B = Breadth

Conversion -

1dm = 0.1m

8dm = 0.8m

Now -

On substituting the values -

Area = L × B

\longmapsto Area = 12.5m × 0.8m

\longmapsto Area = 10m

\therefore Area of both the rectangles are 441m and 10m
