Solution -

We know, that a rectangle has 4 sides where two opposite sides are equal. So, a rectangle have a length and a breadth [ ∵ length ≠ breadth ]

∵ Area of rectangle

= (length × breadth)

Given Data -

Length = 2m 40 cm = 200cm + 40cm

=  240 cm

Breadth = 1m 90cm = 100cm + 90cm

= 190 cm

∴ Area of given rectangle

= (240 × 190) cm²

= 45,600 cm²

∴ Area of given rectangle is 45,600 cm²

Given :

length = 2m 40 cm = 2.4 m

breadth = 1 m 90 cm = 1.9 m

area of rectangle = length × breadth

area of rectangle = 2.4×1.9 = 4.56 m² or 45600 cm²
