R = 20 cm

r = 8 cm

∴ The area of the ring shaped region = π × ( R + r) × ( R - r)

                                                             = 22/7 × ( 20 +8 ) × ( 20 - 8 )

                                                             = 22/7 × 28 × 12

                                                            =  264 × 4

                                                             = 1056 cm²
