(a) In the following , there is a right angled triangle and a rectangle to find the total area we have to add the area of 2 individual figures,

so we get rectangle of length,l=10cm and breadth,b=5cm

hence , area of rectangle =lb=50square cm

area of triangle=1/2bh =15*10/2=75square cm  

Therefore total area of the figure =75+50=125 square cm

(b) In the figure there are 2 shaded regions which are squares ,to find their total area we have to add yheir individual areas,

Area of one square = s*s=3*3=9square cm

Hence, area of 2 squares =9+9=18square cm
