Given figure contains a circle inscribed in a square.

Side of square = 5 cm ( given )

Also , side of square = Diameter of circle = 5 cm

So, Radius of circle = Diameter / 2 = 5 / 2

Radius = 2.5 cm

Now,

Area of square = ( Side )² = ( 5 )² = 25 cm²

Area of circle = πr² = ( 22 / 7 ) × ( 2.5 )²

= ( 22 / 7 ) × 6.25 = 19.64 cm² ( Approx )

Now,

Area of shaded region = Area of square - Area of circle

= 25 - 19.64

= 5.36 cm²
