Split the shaded region into a rectangle (upper part) and a trapezium (lower part). 
The rectangle : Length =  5 cm , Breadth = 2.8 cm
Area = 5*2.8 = 14 sq. cm

The trapezium : Height = 10 cm , Sum of parallel sides = (10+2.8) = 12.8cm
Area of trapezium = 1/2*10*12.8 = 64 sq. cm

The total area = 78 sq. cm
