Step-by-step explanation:

Area of bigger semicircle=1/2*πr^2= π*4.5*4.5/2

Area of shaded region in the bigger semicircle

= π*4.5*4.5-(π*4.5/2*4.5/2+π*1.5*1.5)

=π*20.25 -π(20.25/4+2.25)

=π*20.25-π(20.25+9)/4

=π*20.25-π(29.25)/4

=π(20.25-29.25/4)

= π(81-29.25)/4

= π(51.75)/4

Area of shaded region all over

=π(51.75)/4+π*1.5/2*1.5/2

= π/4(51.75+2.25/2)

= π/4(103.50+2.25)*1/2

I think the answer may be approx 21.186 cm^2
