find the area of shaded region in figure 12.21 if ABCD is a square of side 14 cm and BPC are semicircles​

area of square = s * s

= 14*14

= 196

diameter of semicircle = side of square

therefore d = 14cm

and r = 7cm

area of semicircle(which is also a sector ) = 180/360*22/7*7*7

= 1/2*22*7

= 77cm*cm

therefore area of two semicircles = 2(77)

=154

therefore area of shaded region is area of square - area of two semicircles

= 196-154

=42cm*cm
