side of square = 28 cm

radius of quadrant = 14 cm

area of shaded region = ( area of square) - (area of 1 quadrant *4)

area of square = 28 *28 cm^2 = 784 cm^2

area of 1 quadrant = πr^2/4

area of 4 quadrant = πr^2*4/4

area of 4 quadrant =πr^2

= 22*14*14/7

= 616 cm^2

area of shaded region = 784cm^2 - 616 cm^2

= 168cm^2
