Given, length of square= 20 cm

so,

area of square = (side)^2

= (20)^2

= 400 cm^2

&

length of square is also equal to the diameter of circle = 20 cm

So,

diameter = 20 cm

then, radius = 20/2 cm

= 10 cm

Now, are of circle = πr^2

= 22/7 × 10 × 10

= 22/7× 100

= 2200/7

= 314.28 cm^2

so, area of shaded region = ( area of square - really of circle )

= ( 400 - 314.28 ) cm^2

= 85.72
